What's Actually New To Eat In Preston Hollow Right Now

What's Actually New To Eat In Preston Hollow Right Now

When neighbors search “new restaurants Preston Hollow,” the answer can be surprisingly difficult to pin down. Announcements appear months before opening day, projected dates move, and older roundups continue circulating after plans have changed.

As of July 15, 2026, the useful answer is selective. Palladino’s Steak & Seafood, Cantina La Rosa and nearby CRAFT Restaurant & Beer Market are confirmed 2026 openings. Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express remains a recent fast-casual addition from late 2025. El Molino at Preston Royal appears to be starting service, but its status deserves a call before making plans.

The meaningful change is greater range by occasion rather than sheer volume. There is now a new option for a polished dinner, a patio-centered neighborhood meal, a large rooftop gathering and a casual burger stop. Several other names receiving attention are still to come.

The short, status-checked answer

Restaurant Status as of July 15, 2026 What it adds
Palladino’s Steak & Seafood Open since June 16 Modern steakhouse dining at Preston and Royal
Cantina La Rosa Open since February 13 Tex-Mex, brunch, margaritas and a covered patio
CRAFT Restaurant & Beer Market Open since April 1 Rooftop dining, sports viewing and large groups in nearby Preston Center
Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express Open since November 2025 Cooked-to-order burgers and wings at Preston Hollow Village
El Molino Preston Appears to be accepting reservations; verify directly Wood-fired fajitas and a cocktail-driven Mexican menu
Campisi’s Preston Royal Projected for around August 1 Pizza, pasta, delivery and takeout
Fortune House Planned for September 26 Shanghainese cooking and soup dumplings at Preston Hollow Village
Snarf’s Preston Forest Still listed as coming soon Toasted sandwiches near Preston and Forest

That distinction matters. If the question is where to eat tonight, the first four are the reliable answers. El Molino requires confirmation. The final three belong on the calendar rather than the dinner reservation list.

Palladino’s gives Preston and Royal a true occasion restaurant

The most significant confirmed opening is Palladino’s Steak & Seafood at 5959 Royal Lane. It opened June 16 in the former Spec’s space at Preston and Royal.

Restaurateur Joseph Palladino helped found Nick & Sam’s, and his namesake restaurant began inside New York’s Grand Central Terminal. The Preston Hollow location is the second Palladino’s and brings that New York connection into a distinctly Dallas setting.

The menu reaches beyond the standard steakhouse formula. Prime steaks sit alongside sushi, seafood and Italian-influenced dishes. Reported selections include herb-crusted prime rib served from a trolley, breadstick veal Milanese, miso-glazed Chilean sea bass, Maine lobster scampi and Japanese A5 Wagyu. Executive chef Sam Hazen leads the kitchen with Dallas chef de cuisine Henry Johnson.

The interiors carry equal weight. Rockwell Group designed the restaurant with rich materials, New York references and details tied to Dallas. The Aria private room includes a stage and grand piano. The National private room takes its name from Dallas National Golf Club.

For Preston Hollow residents, Palladino’s fills a specific role: the close-to-home dinner that still feels suited to an anniversary, an important client evening or a private celebration. Because the restaurant’s early web information has included placeholder details, confirm current hours and reservations directly before visiting.

Cantina La Rosa is built for repeat visits

If Palladino’s serves the occasion dinner, Cantina La Rosa makes the stronger case for becoming part of a regular routine.

The restaurant opened February 13 at 4347 W. Northwest Highway, Suite 100, replacing Fernando’s near Central Market at Midway and Northwest Highway. It comes from David Cash and colleagues associated with Smoky Rose, including executive chef Rolando Garcia and operations lead Oscar Aroche.

The cooking stays grounded in Tex-Mex while leaving room for lighter and less expected choices. Reported dishes include barbacoa tacos, chicken tinga tostadas, blackened redfish, a protein bowl, a poblano-topped cheeseburger and Mexican-style mozzarella sticks. Resy has called attention to the ribeye Tijuana tacos, prickly pear margarita and cantaloupe margarita.

Its midcentury hacienda design separates the dining room from the bar and gives considerable space to a covered patio. That layout helps explain the restaurant’s place in the neighborhood. It can accommodate lunch, a margarita at the bar, a patio dinner or weekend brunch without asking every visit to feel like an event.

As of July 2026, the restaurant’s official schedule includes happy hour Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m., weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and half-price bottles of wine on Tuesdays. Current posted hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

CRAFT expands the neighborhood orbit toward Preston Center

CRAFT Restaurant & Beer Market requires one geographic clarification. It sits at 5974 W. Northwest Highway in Preston Center, adjacent to Preston Hollow rather than inside its residential core. Still, it is close enough to function as part of the neighborhood’s dining circuit.

The Canadian concept opened its first United States location here on April 1. Its defining feature is scale. The two-story restaurant has a 5,250-square-foot rooftop patio with a full bar, a games area with bocce and cornhole, and a 360-degree bar offering more than 100 taps. As of July 2026, the official venue page says its private and flexible spaces can accommodate events of up to approximately 500 guests.

The menu is broad by design, with burgers, steaks, sushi, ramen, pizza and shareable bar food. That breadth makes CRAFT most useful when the group wants different things or when the occasion centers on a rooftop table, sports viewing or happy hour rather than one tightly defined style of cooking.

The practical details are helpful here. Current hours run from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to midnight Sunday. Happy hour is Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., while weekend brunch continues until 2 p.m.

A limited number of patio tables can be reserved. The remaining patio seating is held for walk-ins and depends on weather, so it is wise to confirm conditions before organizing a rooftop evening.

Preston Hollow Village has a newer casual option, with more on the way

The recent dining changes are not limited to full-service restaurants. Dallas’s first co-branded Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express opened at Preston Hollow Village in November 2025.

Located at 7949 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 120, the fast-casual restaurant combines customizable, cooked-to-order burgers with bone-in and boneless wings. It is older than this year’s openings, but it still belongs in a current guide because it provides the casual counterpoint to the neighborhood’s newer dining rooms.

That balance will shift again in September if the announced schedule holds. Fortune House is planned for the same development, bringing a very different menu to Firefall Way.

El Molino is the one to confirm before going

El Molino at 6025 Royal Lane is the most fluid opening in the neighborhood.

Anchor Sushi Bar closed at the end of May, and Vandelay Hospitality said it hoped to reopen the Preston Royal space as El Molino during July. A live reservation page was accepting bookings for July 13 and listed daily service, which suggests the Preston location is beginning operations. The official El Molino site still displayed only the Snider Plaza address when this guide was checked.

That is not enough evidence for an unqualified “open now” designation. Call or check live reservation availability before heading over.

Once confirmed, expect a Mexico City-inspired concept centered on wood-fired fajitas and cocktails. The established El Molino menu includes Crab & Shrimp Enchiladas, Branzino Diamanté, a ribeye marinated in guajillo-pineapple nectar and a tableside Flaming Frozen Margarita.

What is announced but not open yet

Three restaurants have generated local interest without reaching confirmed opening day.

Campisi’s at Preston Royal

Campisi’s plans to open at 5944 Royal Lane, in the former Saucy’s Thai space, on or around August 1. Dallas Observer reporting says the location will serve the full Campisi’s menu without a bar and will place particular emphasis on delivery and takeout.

The projected timing should remain just that until the doors open. For now, it is a useful near-term addition to watch rather than a current dinner option.

Fortune House at Preston Hollow Village

Fortune House is scheduled to open September 26 at 7825 Firefall Way, Suite 100. The Shanghainese restaurant is known for xiao long bao with pork, blue crab or black truffle, along with tea-smoked duck, steamed whole sea bass and cocktails.

This may become one of the more distinctive additions to Preston Hollow Village, but it does not belong on an open-now list before September 26.

Snarf’s at Preston and Forest

Snarf’s Sandwiches was previously projected to open in spring 2026 at 11810 Preston Road near Forest Lane. The chain’s official Preston Forest page still says “Coming Soon” and lists no daily hours.

That delay is precisely why opening guides need dates and status checks. A sign, announcement or projected month does not make a restaurant available for lunch.

A practical way to choose tonight

For a polished dinner: Palladino’s is the newest confirmed choice.

For Tex-Mex and a covered patio: Cantina La Rosa offers the clearest regular-weeknight fit.

For a rooftop, sports viewing or a large group: CRAFT is the most purpose-built option, with the reminder that it sits in nearby Preston Center.

For burgers and wings: Fatburger and Buffalo’s Express is open at Preston Hollow Village.

For El Molino: Confirm directly before making the short drive to Preston Royal.

The larger story is not that Preston Hollow suddenly has dozens of new restaurants. It is that residents have more precise choices close to home, and those choices now cover occasions that once required a longer drive across Dallas.

Restaurant details change quickly, especially around an opening. Reservations, hours and projected dates should always be confirmed directly. The same attention to timing and local detail matters when considering a move, preparing a property or simply understanding how a neighborhood works from one week to the next.
